Jack Daniel’s also referred as JD is the most selling American whiskey in the world. Though some texts define Tennessee synonymous to Bourbon but JD doesn’t advertise or emphasize on being such. It best describes itself as “Tennessee Whiskey”. Tennessee whiskey is a brand name given to whiskey produced in Tennessee state of USA.
Founded by Jasper Newton Daniel (nicknamed Jack) in 1866 it is the first registered distillery in the USA. JD – Old No. 7 received its first gold medal in World’s fair at Missouri in 1904. It has come through ages facing radical shifts in the rifts of time.
The distillery came across cruel challenges - prohibition during 1911 to 1940, World War II, British invasion in 1966. The first bottle of Single Barrel Select hit markets in 1997, introduced Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey in 2011, built cooperage in 2014 where hundreds of barrels are built every day by human-hands. JD keeps its spirit up yet by innovation. Introduced first new mash recipe named ‘Single Barrel Rye’ in 2015. The Jack Daniel’s Distillery celebrated its 150th Anniversary in the year 2016 and continues inspiring new ‘responsible’ drinkers for generations to come.
